Colliers Wood, MERTON
This young family had outgrown the house they lived in and needed to make better use of what was available to them. By going into the roof, Making Rooms was able to transform an empty attic into an impressive master bedroom with an en suite and Juliet balcony. See images of the extension below.

The project was completed early against a speedy programme, whilst still delivering to fantastic quality. Time was of the essence with this build in order to deliver what this young family needed. With a baby on the way, the task at hand was simple — transform a three bedroom house into a four bedroom home.
When we bought our house, we knew that we would need to do a loft conversion to accommodate a growing family. With a set timeline, taking on our project was not appealing to every builder we spoke to but Steve Nash (director of Making Rooms) was warm, friendly and empathetic to our situation. Even the smallest of spaces can yield surprising results when planned and expanded to its fullest potential. For this project, Making Rooms was tasked with converting a loft into a spare room that would be used for guests and as an office. We managed to create an inviting space that includes an en suite so visitors don't have to go downstairs to use the facilities. This along with some works carried out in the kitchen on the ground floor have meant this house is now future-proofed for this family.

With eye-catching parquet flooring, this loft conversion was all about creating a sophisticated top floor bedroom. Double glass doors open to reveal a Juliet Balcony and view over a long garden, while flooding the interior with natural light. Wall panelling together with brass finishes offer this Making Rooms project a clean and almost regal look.

For the owners of this property, converting their loft into another room has allowed the couple to invite guests to stay while keeping their now third bedroom free to be used as a dedicated office. Making Rooms has transformed the loft to include a shower room and modified the office space on the 1st floor to make it as practical and usable as possible.

The owners of this property had a specific vision and were very hands-on. Making Rooms worked closely with them to deliver a future-proof home that would meet all their needs. Works included a loft conversion with a connected roof terrace and modifying existing rooms such as the lounge and bedrooms within the property.

Alongside a loft conversion, Making Rooms was able to significantly enlarge the useable space of this property by extending the back of the house on the ground floor to create a large open plan lounge, dining room and kitchen. Not only has the project created a new family room, it has achieved a strong connection to the garden, with direct access gained via large floor-to-ceiling bi-folding glass doors. Orpington, BROMLEY
The focus for this project was to transform what was once a small kitchen and lounge area into a space that could be enjoyed by the whole family. The newly finished space now integrates the lounge with the kitchen making it a great space to entertain. While large skylights, together with sliding glass doors, flood the room with natural light.
Making Rooms refitted our downstairs bathroom, built an extension across the back of the house and fitted a new kitchen for us. Before the work started, Steve spent quite a bit of time with us to find out what we wanted and came up with 2 or 3 options with different features and budgets. It was very clear before we started which trades were included in the Making Rooms remit and what we would have source, so there were no surprises. There's no question about the quality of the work delivered by the Making Rooms teams. Steve was responsive and had a very pragmatic approach to issues or queries that were raised. If work fell slightly behind for any reason, the teams made themselves available to catch up. They were really amenable as we remained in the house as the works were being carried out. We loved the finished kitchen, which has become the heart of our home, as we wanted it to be.

To make the most of this new build, Making Rooms extended the width of the house to make a large kitchen and dining area, with direct access to the lounge and TV room. Large French doors open outwards to reveal a spacious garden and patio area.
